Who We Are

The team at AIP are injury management specialists, passionate about preventing workplace injuries and keeping people healthy, comfortable and happy at work. We have extensive experience working with organisations of all size, and we customise our training and assessment services to meet the needs of each client.


We recognise that one third of our lives is spent at work and that many workplace injuries and illnesses are preventable through education. We provide Ergonomic Assessments for workers in a broad range of environments and industries including corporate workstations, work from home offices and vehicles. AIP is a leader in Manual Handling Training and is sought after by companies needing to meet their WHS obligations and those seeking to mitigate workplace injury.

Meet the Director

Karen Camilleri is a Sydney - based, AHPRA Registered Occupational Therapist, who has been delivering workplace injury management services for more than 25 years. Her extensive experience working with organisations of all size, in both the public and private sectors has enabled Karen to witness firsthand, the serious impact of work-related injury on all aspects of people’s lives, including their ability to perform their work tasks, engage in home and personal care tasks, leisure activities and driving.


Many workplace injuries are preventable and this has been the driving force behind Karen’s passion to deliver injury prevention services and to start her company AIP, a Sydney-based and operating since 1997 (formerly trading as Advance Injury Management).


Karen and her team at AIP offer Assessments and Training face-to-face or online. Those who have used her services often comment on her meticulous attention to detail, her caring and approachable nature and her willingness to go that extra mile to meet and exceed client expectations.

    Karen is an AHPRA Registered Occupational Therapist, member of Occupational Therapy Australia, Accredited Workhab Assessor (NS0201069) and has completed a Cert IV in Occupational Health & Safety (BSB41407) and a Cert IV in Workplace Assessment & Training (BSZ40198). Karen graduated from The University of Sydney in 1990 after completing a Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy.


    Working in acute rehabilitation in a large public hospital setting during the initial years of her career provided Karen with a solid foundation and valuable skillset before entering the Occupational Rehabilitation industry.


    Karen commenced work as a rehabilitation consultant during 1994, delivering occupational rehabilitation services, including case management, under Workcover NSW, CTP and Comcare schemes.


    Since that time, Karen has worked extensively with both corporate clients and small business across a diverse range of industries including:

    Karen’s areas of expertise include Ergonomic Workstation Assessments and Training, Manual Handling Training, including Manual Handling for Carers; Worksite Assessments; Functional Assessments; Occupational Therapy Activities of Daily Living Assessments; Task Analysis; and Functional Education.


    Karen has particular interest in office ergonomics and has worked extensively with office workers, both face-to-face and remotely via video conferencing, to facilitate safe postures and comfort at work, both worksite offices and home offices. She appreciates the value of educating people in ergonomic adjustment of the work environment, safe working posture and the importance of movement and stretching, and the benefit it has in preventing injury and reducing workers’ compensation costs for the employer.


    Karen enjoys developing and delivering interactive, practical and tailored training packages in office ergonomics and manual handling, specifically designed to meet the needs of her clients. She is passionate about teaching and demonstrating good work practices to enable people to work more comfortably, safely and efficiently and take control of their own wellbeing.


    Karen’s mission is to share her knowledge and skills to empower and inspire people to be healthy and injury-free during their work lives, to reduce the pain, suffering and costs associated with work-related injury and illness.
