Functional Assessments
An assessment of an employee’s physical capacity to perform a work role can mitigate the risk of injury
A Functional Assessment, also known as a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a physical assessment that is used to determine a worker’s physical abilities and limitations. Tests include fitness, postural tolerance, manual handling, grip strength, endurance, repetitive movements and specific simulated work tasks.
AIP conducts standardised Functional Assessments such as Workhab as well as non-standardised.
A Functional Assessment can either be undertaken in an AIP room specifically set-up with the required equipment or at the worksite. The assessment usually takes up to 2.5 hours.
